Memories in a Jar-DIY gift
Memories are timeless treasures of the heart!!
I love those random memories that make me smile no matter what is going on in my life now.
“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.”
? Oscar Wilde
Memories are never forgotten and for me even the tiny little joy counts. Having memories stored in a jar is a great way of recollecting and cherishing them and it can also be a cute DIY gift for someone you love.
You can fill the jar with tiny-miny glimpses that you probably have collected in all the past years. I always have a habit of collecting and preserving show tickets..adventure sport tickets..events or musical show passes and so on. I also cherish those small notes and cards which my loved ones have given me. Those random memories and wonderful details about it simply elates me.
I made this “Memories in a Jar”for my hubby on his birthday. We have lived in 3 countries Swiss..Singapore and India after our marriage and have had amazing memories . The idea of handmade gift is appreciated a lot by him. So I thought of gifting him all the memories beautifully wrapped up in love and tied with passion…and as they say”We don’t remember days …but we remember memories”.
It will also make an inexpensive gift. For making this lovely gift you will need few stuffs which are available in your home.
1) Any empty jar -Mason jar or empty Nutella jar or pickle jar would also do.
2)Craft papers to stick on the jar.
3)Ribbons and cute buttons to decorate the jar
4)Laces and twines to decorate the jar
5)Small chits of paper-You can use the regular white paper or any colorful post card
6)Your old collections of movie..show or any tickets.
7)Tram or train tickets of your honeymoon or vacations
8)Twines to tie and roll the paper
9)Fevicol and glue sticks
10)Sketch pen and Gel pen to write.
How to proceed-
1)Take an empty jar and stick any craft paper you desire depending on the occasion. I have used striped one as it was for his birthday. But if you are making as a Valentine gift you can use bright red card papers and stick small hearts all over.
2)Write down all your memories on a piece of paper and roll it with a twig.
3)Assemble.. roll and tie all your collection of tickets or passes that you want in the memory jar.
4)Decorate the jar with laces…buttons..heart cut outs and anything you fancy.
5)Fill all the memories in a jar and cover it with a lid.
6)Your inexpensive…customized and lovely DIY Birthday or Valentine gift is ready to be gifted.
