Ingredients
 
 

  • 500 grams-Turnips
  • 10- Garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp-vinegar
  • 1 tbsp-sugar
  • 2 tsp-Nigella seeds kalonji
  • 1 tsp-cumin seeds jeera
  • 1 spn-pepper powder
  • 10- dates Khajur
  • Salt as per taste

Instructions
 

  • Peel the turnips in thick and round slices.
  • Rub it with salt and store for 3-4 hours.
  • Then mix the sugar and the spices together.
  • Ground the dates with a small amount of vinegar.
  • Heat 1 tsp mustard oil in a pan and fry the ground garlic until it turns brown and then add the turnips.
  • Once it becomes dry…add vinegar..the remaining mustard oil..mixed sugar…spices and dates.
  • Remove from the pan and transfer it in an airtight jar.
  • Keep it out for 24 hours and then it is ready to use.
  • I prefer keeping the pickle jar in the fridge.
