Beetroot Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup Grated Beetroot
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds/jeera
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder/jeera powder
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 tbsp cooking sunflower oil
  • a handful of finely chopped coriander leaves

Firstly, keep all the required ingredients ready on a plate before you start to cook.

Heat oil in a pan, and when it is hot add cumin/jeera. Once it starts to crackle add green chilies and onion in it.

Step 3 of 4

Now saute for a minute and add grated beetroot, coriander leaves, salt, cumin powder and cook for 1 more minute.

Step 4 of 4

Finally, add cooked rice in the beetroot preparation and stir the whole mixture lightly. Cover the pan and cook it on a slow flame for 2 minutes and switch off the gas.
