Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 liter High Fat Milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp Ghee / Clarified Butter
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 8-10 Saffron strands / Kesar
  • 1 cup of mixed nuts
  • 1 tsp Dry Rose Petals

Step 1 of 8

Firstly, take 1 cup of Basmati Rice and wash it in running water for at least 2-3 times till you see clear water. Soak Basmati Rice for 15 minutes.

Grease a pressure pan with 1 tsp of Ghee and switch on the flame.

Step 3 of 8

Add milk to the pressure pan and let it come to a boil.

Step 4 of 8

Now add sugar to the boiling milk and mix it well.

Step 5 of 8

Finally, add the washed rice to the boiling milk and close the lid of the pan. Cook till 1 whistle and switch off the flame.

Step 6 of 8

Meanwhile soak saffron strands in hot milk.

Step 7 of 8

Once the pan cools down, open the whistle and mix the Doodh Pak well, add cardamom powder and just heat it for another 2 minutes stirring continuously.

Step 8 of 8

Add Saffron milk and garnish with almonds and pistachio flakes.
