Sooji Halwa With Ghee Roasted Dates And Raisins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sooji
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 2/3 rd cup Ghee
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Dates
  • 3/4 cup Raisins
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder

Step 1 of 7

Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan and roast dates and raisins for a minute and keep it aside.

Step 2 of 7

Now add Sooji in the ghee and roast it on a medium flame till it is golden brown in color.

Step 3 of 7

Keep stirring constantly or else it may stick on the pan.

Step 4 of 7

Once the sooji is properly roasted and leaving its aroma add water and let it cook for about 5 minutes.

Cook till the water has been absorbed properly and sooji is cooked.

Step 6 of 7

At this stage add sugar and cardamom powder and cook for another 2-3 minutes till the sugar melts and mixed properly in the halwa.

Step 7 of 7

Remove it in a bowl and add ghee roasted dates and raisins in it and serve it hot.
