Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 tsp asafoetida | hing
  • 1-2 red dry chilies
  • 6-7 curry leaves
  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas
  • 1- inch jaggery piece
  • 1 tsp tamarind extract
  • ¼ th cup fresh grated coconut
  • salt as per taste

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, heat oil in a Kadai and add urad dal and mustard seeds/rai in it.
  • Let the urad dal turn brown in color and mustard seeds crackle.
  • Now add curry leaves, dry red chilies, and hing and fry for 20 seconds.
  • Add boiled chickpeas in the Kadai and mix well.
  • Also add a piece of jaggery, little water, and cook for 3-4 minutes stirring in between.
  • Finally, add tamarind extract, mix well, and switch off the flame.
  • Lastly, add freshly grated coconut and mix everything well.
