Palak Raita | Spinach Raita is a light, refreshing yogurt-based dip made with fresh spinach leaves. This Palak Raita is super nutritious and iron-rich.  Spinach raita is ideal side dish that pairs well biryanis, pulao, and stuffed parathas.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 cup Curd or Yogurt
  • ½ cup washed and chopped Spinach
  • 1 small finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds or jeera
  • 2-3 dry red chilies
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin or jeera powder
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • Salt as per taste

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, take 1 cup of yogurt in a bowl add salt, red chili powder, cumin powder and whisk it till there are no lumps remaining.
  • Keep all the ingredients for the raita ready on a plate.
  • Now heat oil in a small pan, add cumin seeds, dry chilies, onions and garlic in it.
  • Cook for 2 minutes on a low flame till they turn brown in color.
  • Add chopped spinach leaves in it and cook for another 1 minute and switch off the flame.
  • Let it cool for 2-3 minutes before adding it to the yogurt.
