Rajgira Sheer | Vrat | Navratri Sheera Recipe

Rajgira Sheera is a gluten-free and scrumptious Indian Sweet recipe. This is made with Rajgira also know an Amaranth flour, ghee, sugar, and nuts. Moreover, this Amaranth flour halwa is consumed during Vrat | Upwas or fasting.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 3 tbsp ghee| Clarified butter
  • a handful of chopped almonds and cashew nuts
  • ½ cup Rajgira flour
  • 2 cups of hot water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, heat ghee in a pan on medium flame and roast cashew nuts and almonds till they turn brown. Remove it and keep it in a bowl.
  • Now add rajgira flour in the ghee.
  • Keep it on a low flame and keep stirring it with a spatula.
  • Stir the flour at regular intervals till you get a nutty aroma and the color changes.
  • Roast the flour till it is brown and it releases ghee from the sides.
  • Now add hot water in it | If you are using milk add it now.
  • It will splutter when you add hot water, so be careful.
  • Once, all the water is absorbed add sugar and cardamom powder.
  • Now keep on stirring continuously till all the water is evaporated and the halwa becomes gooey and leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Remove it from the flame and transfer it into a bowl and add roasted almonds and cashew nuts and serve.
