Palak Raita | Spinach Raita

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Curd or Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup washed and chopped Spinach
  • 1 small finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds or jeera
  • 2-3 dry red chilies
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin or jeera powder
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • Salt as per taste

Step 1 of 6

Firstly, take 1 cup of yogurt in a bowl add salt, red chili powder, cumin powder and whisk it till there are no lumps remaining.

Keep all the ingredients for the raita ready on a plate.

Now heat oil in a small pan, add cumin seeds, dry chilies, onions and garlic in it.

Step 4 of 6

Cook for 2 minutes on a low flame till they turn brown in color.

Step 5 of 6

Add chopped spinach leaves in it and cook for another 1 minute and switch off the flame.

Step 6 of 6

Let it cool for 2-3 minutes before adding it to the yogurt.
