Eating healthy can be as interesting if made with an eye on creativity and a perfect blend of flavors. I am talking of these warm Indo-Chinese flavored bell peppers and a sprout salad. It is one of those salads that I loved last week in a restaurant and I instantly thought of making it.
Bell peppers and sprouts are easily available in the market, well the edible flowers and microgreens I had sourced from the Crawford market- Mumbai. I so adore the look and the mild flavors of edible flowers that I end up using in salads and smoothies.
Cook this fresh, warm, and classic bell pepper and sprout salad right away. It is seriously delish and hearty. The crunch and the taste of this salad delivers a bang on flavor. It is vegan and guilt-free. Well, a perfect meal option for those dull days when you do not want to spend a lot of time in your kitchen.
Step by Step Recipe of Chinese Bell Pepper Sprout Salad
INGREDIENTS
1 big size Onion
1 medium-size red bell pepper
1 medium-size yellow bell pepper
1 tsp minced garlic
1 cup Sprouts
1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp Soy sauce
1 tsp red chili sauce
2 tsp Tomato ketchup
1 tsp Vinegar
1 tsp Black sesame seeds
1 tsp Black pepper powder
Salt as per taste
for garnish Edible flowers and Microgreens
INSTRUCTIONS

First, take a bowl and boil 3 cups of water in it. Add sprouts and a pinch of salt once the water boils.

Let the sprouts boil for 5-6 minutes till they are soft and tender.

Recipe of Indo-Chinese Bell Pepper Sprout Salad
Ingredients
- 1 Big Onion
- 1 Medium red bell pepper
- 1 Medium yellow bell pepper
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 cup Sprouts
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp red chili sauce
- 2 tsp Tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- 1 tsp Black sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Black pepper powder
- Salt as per taste
- for garnish Edible flowers and Microgreens
Instructions
- First, take a bowl and boil 3 cups of water in it. Add sprouts and pinch of salt once the water boils.
- Let the sprouts boil for 5-6 minutes till they are soft and tender.
FOR CHOPPING VEGETABLES:
- First, wash the vegetable and then chop the onions, red and green bell pepper in thin slices.
- Take a broad nonstick pan and add extra virgin olive oil in it. Now add minced garlic and saute for 30 seconds till garlic leaves its aroma.
- Now add onion slices and saute for a minute. Time to add red and green bell pepper.
- Saute all the vegetables till they are tender say for about 5-7 minutes. Now add the boiled sprouts and mix it gently.
FINAL STEP OF MIXING SAUCES:
- Once you mix the sprouts along with the onions and the peppers add soy sauce, red chili paste, tomato ketchup, vinegar, black pepper powder, and salt.
- Mix the salad gently and sprinkle some black sesame seeds on top of it. Finally, garnish with some edible flowers and microgreens and serve this warm salad.
