This Brown Chickpea / Chana Hummus is a nice and a healthy party dip. It is a nice variation to our staple chickpea hummus. It tastes good and it is rich in protein. The generous use of garlic, onion and olive oil in this hummus makes it even more flavorful and a great option.
Try making this brown chickpea hummus for your Diwali party and serve it with crackers. I made this for my folks the other day and they liked it a lot. Infact I even packed his hummus for my girls snack boxes with crackers and Monaco biscuits. They were happy to relish this healthy snack and I felt a sigh of contentment. Soak Brown Chickpeas in warm water overnight or for 7-8 hours.
After opening the whistle strain all the excess water from the chickpeas in the strainer.
Now blend chickpeas, onion, ginger, garlic, 1tsp olive oil, salt, lemon juice in a chutney blender till it is soft and no chunks are left. If needed add very little water while blending.
