Ingredients
 
 

  • For Strawberry Oats Crumble
  • Fruit Filling:
  • 250 gms Strawberries
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • ½ tsp Cornflour
  • For the Crumble Topping:
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats / Instant Oats
  • ½ cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 tbsp Organic Jaggery
  • ½ cup sliced Almonds
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 ½ Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • a pinch of Salt
  • For Galette Dough
  • 2 cups Whole Wheat flour
  • 1 cup Cold Butter cut into small cubes
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Ice Cold Water

Instructions

  • Firstly, preheat the oven to 180 C for 20 minutes.  Hull the strawberries and chop them into small chunks. Combine the brown sugar, strawberries and cornflour, stir and set it aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine oats, flour, jaggery, almonds, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in olive oil with a fork to make a crumbly mixture.
  • Take a baking dish, and place strawberry filling at the bottom and sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top. Bake it in a pre-heated oven for about 40 minutes till it turns golden brown.
  • Let the crumble cool down at room temperature for 10 minutes before adding it into the Galette.

  • Firstly, pre-heat the oven at 180 c for 2o minutes. Now for the dough, take whole wheat flour in a bowl, add salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cold butter cubes.
  • Rub the butter cubes with your fingertips till it becomes all crumbly in texture. Knead the dough by adding cold water a little at a time till it forms a hard dough. Keep it aside.

  • Roll out dough to a 12-inch round and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Gently spread the filling on the dough, leaving 1/2 inch of the border. Fold dough border over filling and brush with olive oil.
  • Finally, bake this strawberry and oats crumble galette for 30-35 minutes till it turns golden brown.
  • Once baked remove it from the oven, cut it into 4 slices and serve it hot or cold.
