Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival that honors the unique bond between a brother and a sister. The festival, which falls on ‘Shravan Purnima’ (full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan), August, as per the Gregorian calendar, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in different parts of India. While it is a tradition typical to northern parts of India, people in western and eastern parts of the country also celebrate the occasion with equal fervor. The occasion is all about spending quality time with brother/sister. When a sister ties Rakhi on her brother’s wrist, he is bound to protect her in all respects, throughout his lifetime. After the sister ties sacred thread (Rakhi) on her brother’s wrist, he reciprocates the love shown to him by bestowing gifts and money upon her. In return, she offers him sweet treats. To make it all the more different, many people often dedicate poems and quotations to their sibling, on the festival of Rakhi.
Here’s To My Brother Here’s to my brother Remember every day No matter what I’ve said
Here’s what I’d like to say I will always love you Be with you till the end
When no one else is around I will be your friend
I love my brother and I always will I’m proud to be your brother that’s how I feel
And someday when we’re far away And the miles keep us apart I’m gonna whisper I love my brother
And you’ll know it in your heart.

Make paneer or chenna from 1 1/2 liter milk by adding lime juice to boiling milk

Grease a non-stick pan with little ghee and add the paneer and condensed milk.
Mix well and heat the above mixture on a medium heat for appx 5-7 minutes till it leaves the side of the pan.

Now add cardamom powder and saffron (soak saffron strands in warm milk for 5 minutes) to it and mix for another 1-2 minutes till it is incorporated properly.
Switch off the gas and let the laddoo mixture cool for 5-7 minutes.
