Mushroom Fried Rice or Mushroom Rice is a one-pot Indo-Chinese dish. This is a perfect weekend dinner option that cooks in nearly 30 minutes.
This recipe is the most authentic Restaurant style rice dish and it tastes so good. It is simple, easy, delicious, and the quickest way to prepare it at home. You can prepare this when you have a party at home and serve it with any Indo-Chinese gravies like Paneer Chilly, Manchurian with gravy, and more such gravies.
The main ingredients for preparing Mushroom Fried Rice are Button Mushrooms, onions, bell pepper, ginger-garlic, and few Chinese sauces. You can either make this recipe from scratch using uncooked rice or cal also use leftover rice. Mushroom Fried Rice
Ingredients
- 1 cup Basmati Rice
- 200 gms Mushrooms
- 1 Onion thinly sliced
- ½ Green and Red Bell Pepper/Capsicum thinly sliced
- a handful of finely chopped green stalks
- 2 tsp Garlic Minced
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp Tomato Sauce
- 1 tbsp Cooking Oil
- Salt as per taste
Instructions
- Firstly, wash Basmati Rice in running water and soak for 15 minutes.
- Take a pot of boiling water, add basmati rice, salt, and 1 tsp of oil into it. Let it cook for 10 minutes till all the grains are well cooked.
- Transfer the cooked rice into a colander and remove all the excess water. Allow the rice to cool.
- Heat oil in a wok and minced garlic, saute it for 30 seconds and add onion strips and saute for 2 minutes.
- Once the onion turns slightly brown, add bell peppers, ginger garlic paste, and mushrooms and let it cook for 5 minutes on a high flame stirring frequently.
- Add green stalks of spring onions, vinegar, soy sauce, and tomato ketchup, and salt. Mix it well.
- Finally, add the rice and toss everything till mix, let it cook for 3 minutes, and then switch off the flame.

Step-By-Step Recipe of Mushroom Fried Rice

- The same recipe can be made with different vegetables, you simply need to replace mushrooms in the above recipe.
- Vegetables like baby corn, Broccoli, French beans can also be used in this preparation.
- You can alter the spice levels as per your taste. If you want more spicy use 2 tsp of green chili paste.
- Use long-grain or the best variety of basmati rice for making Mushroom Fried Rice.
- This mushroom-fried rice will stay for 1 day. If you want to have it for dinner, prepare this in the morning and keep it in the fridge. Heat it in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop before serving.
