Yes, you can make this Nutella Hot Chocolate in the microwave too. For all the lazy souls who still want to enjoy this cup of goodness, all you need is 2 ingredients, milk and Nutella. Mix together in a cup and microwave for 1 minute and it’s done. You can enjoy your cup of hot chocolate without complaining.
Main Ingredients used in this recipe
Milk: You can use low-fat or high-fat milk for this recipe. However, you can also use Almond milk, Coconut milk, or Soy milk for this recipe.
Nutella: Jar Nutella is what I have used in this recipe, it’s easy and convenient.
Chocolate: Adding fine quality chocolate shavings will elevate the taste and also make it more chocolaty. Use a mix of milk and dark chocolate as this will taste very delicious. Moreover, if do not want to use chocolate then add 2 tbsp of Nutella and 1 tbsp of Cocoa powder to this recipe.
Fresh Cream: Use a little bit of Fresh Cream for making it creamy and satiny.
Sugar: Use sugar as per your taste preferences, as chocolate and Nutella both have sugar in them. You can totally avoid sugar in this recipe also, totally your choice. We love to add a little bit of sugar to hot chocolate.
Marshmallow: Hot Chocolate tastes best with Marshmallows so do use them, but if you don’t like it or don’t have it handy, avoid it. It is optional, you can use whipped cream also to top the hot chocolate.
Nutella Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups Milk
- 1 tbsp Fresh Cream
- ½ cup Chocolate Shavings milk chocolate + Dark Chocolate
- 1 tbsp Nutella
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 8-10 marshmallows optional

- Firstly, take 2 1/1 cups of milk in a saucepan and heat it till you get one boil.
- Now add sugar into the milk and bring it to boil for 2-3 minutes stirring frequently till sugar dissolves in the milk.
- Add fresh cream and mix it well.
- Now add chocolate shavings in and whisk it with a wire whisk till it is well combined.
- Take 1 tsp cornflour in a bowl and add 2 tsp cold water to it and mix it well till there are no lumps. Now add this into the milk and whisk it well.
- Finally, add Nutella, and let it simmer for another 2 minutes.
- Pour Nutella Hot Chocolate into 2 glasses, add a few marshmallows, drizzle some chocolate sauce and serve it hot.
