Roasted Almond And Oats Chikki with black sesame seeds are soft, chewy, and a healthy version of Chikkis. Oats are very healthy and full of fiber and jaggery is enriched with iron. It tastes just wonderful and kids love it too. It’s homemade and much better than store brought.

My kids have started liking Oats and I am experimenting a lot with them. Sankranti is just around the corner and all the stores and houses will be filled with all sorts of Chikkis. We are too fond of it and relish it as much as possible. Try this different version of Oats and roasted almond Chikki and fall in love with it. You can even exchange these healthy and delicious Chikkis with your friends and relatives this year.

Roasted Almond And Oats Chikki

Ingredients:

2 cups-Oats
2 cups-Organic Jaggery
1/2 cup-Black Sesame Seeds
2 tsp-Ghee
1/2 Cup-Roasted Almonds

Method:

1. Take a pan and add 1 tsp of ghee and roast the Oats in it till they are light brown in color and the raw smell disappears.

2. Add black sesame seeds to the same bowl and let them roast for 1 minute. Remove the Oats and black sesame seeds and keep them in a bowl and let them cool.

3. Chop the almonds into small pieces and keep them aside.

4. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan and roast almonds at a lower flame till they are light brown in color.

5. Keep it aside in a bowl.

6. Heat the pan and add 2 cups of jaggery in it and let it melt till you start seeing the bubbles.

7. Once you see the bubbles in it add Oats, black sesame seeds, and roasted almonds and mix everything till it is well combined and switch off the gas.

8. Take 2 big plates and grease a little with ghee on the flat side and spread the Chikki mixture on it.

9. Cut it into small square pieces while it is hot.

10. Store it in an airtight container once the Chikki cools down.
