Mint Raita

Mint Raita | Pudina Raita is a yogurt-based side dish that is mainly served along with biryanis, pulao, and parathas. It is made in just 5 minutes and its such a nice soothing raita. The freshness of mint leaves and the cooling effect of yogurt make this raita more refreshing.

This mint raita also pairs well with Veg Kababs and Shami Kababs. Mint leaves and yogurt combinations help in digestion and also soothes the acidic level in the body after having a spicy meal.

The recipe of this raita is easy and it will taste best when it is served fresh and chilled.

Step-by-Step Recipe of Mint Raita

Ingredients:
This recipe will yield 2 servings
1 cup yogurt / Curd
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp cumin/jeera powder
1 tsp sugar (optional)
salt as per taste.

Method:
1. Firstly, arrange all the above ingredients on a plate before you start preparing this raita.

2 Now add sugar, salt, and cumin powder in the yogurt and whisk it with a wire whisk until it is smooth and lump-free.

3. Wash the mint leaves and grind it into a smooth paste.

4. Finally, add the mint paste in the yogurt, mix well and garnish with some fresh mint leaves and sprinkle red chili powder and serve.

Tips to make this raita

  • Always use fresh and cold yogurt/ curd for raita.
  • Use fresh mint leaves in this recipe.
  • You can also add chaat masala or black salt in this recipe.
  • Moreover, prepare raita in advance and chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes at least before serving.
