Watermelon Iced Tea

This homemade Watermelon Iced Tea is an energizing and a cooling beverage perfect to beat the heat. Nothing can be more soothing and refreshing than a fresh cold watermelon drink.

I wanted something light and refreshing after an entire week of festive indulgence. To be honest there was a lot of good food that we relished. When I think of having homemade that soothes my soul, it is surely watermelon!  Preparing Watermelon Iced Tea clicked as a perfect idea.

Prepare the fresh watermelon juice in a blender and pour in the concentrated iced tea syrup and top it up with ice cubes – that simple!

HOW TO MAKE FRESH WATERMELON ICED TEA AT HOME

Recipe of Watermelon Iced Tea

Ingredients:

1 small Watermelon
4 cups Water
3 Black tea bags
1 tbsp Granulated sugar
A handful of Mint leaves
I cup Freshly chopped watermelon
Ice cubes

Instructions:

HOW TO MAKE ICED TEA SYRUP:
Boil 4 cups of water and 1 tbsp of sugar in a pan on a medium flame for 4-5 minutes or till the sugar dissolves in the water.
Turn off the flame and now add the tea bags or tea powder in the boiling water and cover the pan with a lid.
Let the tea bags sit for 15-20 minutes.

HOW TO MAKE WATERMELON JUICE:
Now start preparing the watermelon juice. Cut the Watermelon into half and start by scooping the flesh of the watermelon. Keep aside few watermelon pieces in a bowl and puree the rest of the watermelon in a blender and strain the fresh juice and pour it into a pitcher.
There’s no need to add sugar in the watermelon juice as it is already naturally sweet in taste plus we have a sweetened iced tea syrup.

Now remove the tea bags from the water and start with preparing the iced tea.

Take 2 tall glasses or mason jars as per your liking.

How to serve per glass:
Pour watermelon juice in a glass, top it with concentrated iced tea syrup and ice cubes. Stir it well and garnish it with fresh mint leaves and watermelon pieces. Serve it cold.
