Sweet Corn Tikkis | Sweet Corn Pattice with step-by-step pictures and detailed recipe. These Sweet Corn Tikkis are one of the popular snacks that are mainly liked by everyone. It is a delicious snack recipe that is so easy to prepare at home with not much of a hassle.
In India Sweet Corn are mainly available during the monsoon, so these Sweet Corn Tikkis are typically known as a monsoon snack. These tikkis are also available on the streets with a hot cup of Ginger Tea. Simple ingredients are required to prepare this at home and you can relish as many you want. they will disappear so soon that you will not realize it unless your tummy is really full. They taste that good. The spice level can be adjusted and you can add green chilies or red chili powder depending on your taste preferences.

Sweet Corn Tikkkis
Ingredients
- 5-6 boiled potatoes
- ½ cup boiled sweetcorn
- 1 tsp cumin/jeera powder
- 1 tsp coriander/dhania powder
- salt as per taste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- a handful of finely chopped coriander leaves
- 2 tbsp poha/beaten rice
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- For serving
- Green coriander chutney
- Tomato ketchup
Instructions
- Firstly peel the skin of the boiled potatoes, mash them and keep it aside on a plate.
- Now boil the sweetcorn in a pressure pan till 4-5 whistles and switch off the flame. Once the pressure release and the pan cool down, open the lid and strain it and remove all the excess water and keep the boiled sweetcorn aside for 5 minutes.
- Now mix boiled sweetcorn with mashed potatoes and add all the spices and coriander leaves and mix it well.
- 4.Now take the poha/beaten rice and grind it into a fine powder, this will act as a binder here.
- Mix this into the above mixture and combine all the ingredients properly and roll small balls out of it and keep it aside. Press them a little and keep it aside.
- For shallow frying, heat a non-stick pan and drizzle oil and place the tikkis on it. Fry them until they turn golden brown.
- Now flip the tikkis and cook the same way on the other side as well till they are golden brown and crispy.
- Finally repeat the same procedure with all the sweet corn tikkis and serve them hot with green coriander chutney and tomato ketchup.

Step-By-Step Recipe of Corn Tikkis

Recipe Notes:
- If you are Jain, you can replace potatoes with raw banana and avoid garlic paste in this recipe.
- You can also use regular white corn instead of sweet corn in this recipe.
- It is always advisable to have boiled potatoes handy so as to make this recipe impromptu.
- You can deep fry the tikkis instead of shallow fry.
- Instead of poha powder, you can also use bread crumbs for binding and later roll them in cornflour so that the stuffing doesn’t stick to the pan.
- Serve the Sweet Corn tikkis hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
