Tawa Paneer Masala with a step-by-step detailed recipe. This is an easy veg recipe | veg dinner recipe that is cooked with marinated paneer cubes and semi-dry gravy. It is a quick, easy veg recipe that is usually preferred and ordered in a restaurant.
Basically, panner cubes are marinated in yogurt and spices for half an hour and then cooked on Tawa, a Hindi word for the griddle. Furthermore, it is cooked either in semi-gravy or onion tomato gravy.
You can either make the entire sabzi on Tawa, that is the ideal way, however, I have marinated and cooked only paneer cubes on Tawa and have added in the gravy as shown in the step-by-step pictures below. My kids are a little fussy and they prefer paneer sabzi in a gravy form.
Step-By-Step Recipe of Tawa Paneer Masala
For the gravy
1. Firstly, heat oil in a Kadai and add ginger garlic paste, saute it for few seconds and add onion paste.
2. Saute it for 2 minutes till onion paste turn brown and the raw smell goes.
3. Now add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and mix well till the spices are blended well.
4. Finally, add tomato puree, honey, and let the gravy cook on a medium flame till 2 minutes stirring occasionally.
5. Lastly, switch off the flame and add fresh cream and cover it with a lid and keep it aside.
For Roasting Paneer
1. Firstly, take a bowl and add hung yogurt to it.
2. Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt in it.
3. Mix all the spices well in the yogurt till it is smooth.
4. Now cut the paneer into cubes and keep all the paneer cubes ready in a tray.
5. Add the paneer cubes to the prepared marination and leave them aside for 30 minutes.
6. Once all the paneer cubes are properly marinated heat a non-stick Tawa, add oil and paneer cubes in the Tawa.
7. Let it cook for a few seconds on a medium flame, then flip the paneer cubes.
8. Roast paneer cubes on all the sides till dark brown and keep it ready on a plate.
9. Finally, add Tawa paneer cubes in the prepared onion tomato gravy and garnish with freshly chopped coriander.
Serving suggestion:

- Tawa Paneer Masala will pair well with Butter roti or naan also.
- Add some slices of onions, tomatoes, and cucumber along with green chilies.

- FOR ROASTING PANEER:
- ½ cup hung Yogurt

- ¼ tsp turmeric powder

- 16-18 cubes of paneer
- Salt as per taste
- 2 tbsp cooking oil for roasting Tawa

- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- ½ tsp Cooking Oil
- 1 cup Onion Paste approximately 2-3 medium onion
- 1 cup tomato puree
- ½ tsp turmeric paste
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tsp honey or sugar
- 1 tbsp Fresh cream
Instructions
