Recipe Notes

  • You can either boil or roast the sweet potatoes in an oven.
  • Peanuts can be roasted in the microwave too. For that use a microwave-safe bowl and put peanuts in it and heat for 1 minute. Remove the bowl, toss a bit and repeat the same procedure for another 1 minute. Once it cools down, remove the outer skin of peanuts and proceed it further.
  • If you do not have arrowroot powder handy, you can also use Barnyard flour|Samo flour for rolling. For that matter, any flours like rajgira, kuttu, etc that can be eaten during fasting can be used.
  • Always drop the poppers once the oil is hot and fry it on a medium flame so that it cooks evenly from inside as well.
  • These sweet potato and peanut poppers will taste best when served hot and crispy with farali chutney.
