After a beautiful, scenic, and long drive of approximately 550 kilometers from Mumbai, we finally reached Dandeli at around 6.30 pm. We met Mr. Sanjay at their office of dandeli.com, and he guided us our way to Dandeli Jungle Camp which was around 15-20 minutes from there is a village named Pradhani.
How to reach Dandeli Jungle Camp
So after our countryside drive in Dandeli, we headed to Pradhani village, and finally, we saw a board sign that said Jungle Camp resort is 1 km away. So progressing our way towards the camp through a pitch dark dense forest along with the whoosh of bushes and sounds of crickets, we spotted the left turn that showed us the way to Dandeli Jungle Camp. Heading to the red muddy road amidst the dense jungle that felt like the adventure had already begun, we reached the camp. As soon as we reached the resort one of the staff members came running and assisted us with parking of our car and helped us with picking our luggage and headed us to the resort and our room, we were greeted by the owner of the resort Mr. Dharmesh Patel. He was very kind, courteous, and helped us planning our next day itinerary. After checking in the room and freshening up, we headed to the campfire that was right in front of our room where we were put up. Later we headed to have dinner at the dining hall, dinner was nice and filling. After a long tiring day and post-dinner, we decided to call it a day. Headed back to our room and dozed off as the next morning we had plans to go for Bird Sanctuary at Dandeli Timberwood depot.
The next morning, the camp staff came at around 5.30 am and knocked on our door to wake us up. With freshness and calmness all around us, we woke up and did our morning rituals. At 6.00 am the staff served us hot tea and asked us to meet us at the gate as the jeep was waiting for us. We headed to the bird sanctuary where the tour guide was waiting to show us around. We spotted many birds like Hornbills, Giant squirrel, Indian roller, and many more. Some species of Hornbills were native only to the Dandeli forest here.
At Dandeli Jungle Camp they made our day filed up with activities. After coming from Bird watching we had simply yet delicious breakfast at the resort.
Post that we headed to Syntheri Rocks that was some 35-40 minutes away. The drive was full of crazy curves, but the driver was very safe with his driving and as we reached Syntheri rocks, there was a small nominal fee that had to be paid near the entrance. After spending a couple of hours there we headed back to the jeep and back to Jungle camp.
Reaching there we had a satisfying meal and headed straight to our room to rest for a while. The most exciting part of our trip was awaiting us. We all were heading for Water activities at the Kali river. We had the most wonderful, exciting, and thrilling time doing Whitewater rafting, boating, and getting ourselves drenched in natural Jacuzzi water. This was the best part of our trip and we all had a blast. Last but not the least we had a staple and delightful dinner at Jungle Camp that included dal, roti, sabzi, pulses, and salad. So overall, we had a fun, exciting, and eventful day.
Let’s have a pictorial tour of the Resort.
Overview:
Dandeli Jungle Camp is a decent place to stay if you are visiting Dandeli. Though the rooms are pretty small and ok what I loved the most about this place was the hospitality and warmth that the owner showed. Also, all the camp staff members were extremely helpful and on the toes to meet our needs. The food served here was homely and appetizing and they catered to all our needs and customized as per our needs especially for the kids. The activities that they conduct from this resort is the highlight as they tend to keep you occupied and see to it that your day is spent fruitful and their aim is to engross you totally.
