Detox Chocolate Bites | Dark Chocolate Bites (Mendiant) are cute-looking, bitter-sweet mini dessert bites. They are made with rich, creamy, and bitter dark chocolate topped with seeds and berries. Detox Chocolate Bites taste so good and look pretty as well.
I am someone with a terrible sweet tooth with an urge for dessert after every meal. Ok, at least after dinner I do have some cravings for sweets. I end up eating some of the other sweets, cookies, rolls, energy bites, and much more.
But honestly, unless you eat a piece of chocolate you are never satisfied. So after making these detox dark chocolate bites, I have discovered a new guilt-free way of enjoying desserts.
The French word for these chocolate bites
These Detox Chocolate Bites are also known as Mendiants in French. As per Wikipedia, mendiant is defined as a traditional French confection composed of a chocolate disk studded with nuts and dried fruits representing the four mendicant or monastic orders. Mainly, Mendiants are made during Christmas, recipes for this confection have veered away from the traditional combination of nuts and fruits to incorporate seeds, fruit peels, and other items. But the main funda is to make a chocolate disc and top it with your favorite seeds and dry fruits and nuts.
Step-by-Step Recipe of Detox Chocolate Bites
This recipe will yield approximately 20 Detox Chocolate Bites
300 Grams Dark Chocolate
1/2 tsp Flax Seeds
1/2 tsp Pumpkin seeds
1 tsp Dry Cranberries
1 tsp Sunflower seeds
1. Firstly, chop the chocolates into small pieces and melt it either in a double boiling method or microwave for 1 minute, stir and again heat it for 30 seconds.
2. Secondly, take a parchment or baking paper and lay in on a tray.
3. Finally, spoon the dark melted chocolate on to the parchment paper and allow it to form a natural round shape. Tap it a little and with a spoon allow it to spread a bit.
4. Time to sprinkle our assortment of seeds and cranberries on the chocolate. You need to be a little quick here and add before the chocolate cools down.
