Betaab Valley is a picturesque place for artists who strive to paint, writers who compelled to write, poets who want to recite a poem, and a place for lovers who yearn for romance.
Sometimes, You find Yourself in the middle of Nowhere, And, In the middle of this Nowhere, You find Yourself.
This is exactly how I felt when I saw the sight of Betaab Valley in Kashmir and fell in love with it. To breathe the air here is to breathe poetry.
This valley of dreams surrounded by Deodar trees all around and the Himalayas with gushing water is no less than a paradise. Sprawling verdant pastures, the grandeur of snow-capped mountains, and meandering streams form the breathtaking landscape of this valley. Apart from being a spectacular place, the valley is a famous trekking base and camping site for travelers who want to explore the nearby mountainous regions.
Betaab valley has charming and quaint surroundings with the pristine river, gushing stream, sprawling green pastures, and dense forests. The grandeur of the snow-clad mountains and the magnificent views will leave you spellbound. This place is a paradise for photographers and the entire valley swanks of many breathtaking landscapes that must be captured in the camera.
Let me take you back to an interesting story about how the name of the valley was derived:
The song was picturized in the hut built by the producer of the movie. Although the hut has been demolished a long time back, a rest house has come up in that place. It was locked while we had visited, but you can click some nice pictures here and reminisce about the feel of the song.

If you are in Kashmir, you must surely visit Betaab Valley as it is surely a god’s gift to mankind.
This is one of the places you just can’t skip while you are in Pahalgam for its enduring and classic beauty.
Spend some time enjoying its picture-perfect view and if you lucky spot some horses and sheep grazing here and there.

Some facts to know while visiting Betaab Valley:
Betaab valley is about 10km from the center of Pahalgam. You need to hire a local tourist vehicle to come here.
Bargaining is absolutely necessary with the Union drivers as they will quote a very high price initially. See to it that you do not waste a lot of time in the bargain as they have nothing to lose, you lose your valuable time.
At the main entrance, there is a counter from which you need to buy a ticket to enter this valley.
You will also find a few local vendors selling Kashmiri shawls, dress materials, some souvenirs, and stoles. Their stuff is decent, but you need to bargain a lot with them.
There are small refreshments joints for tea, coffee, and snacks.
You can also carry your own eatables and have a small picnic in the valley.
