Italian Corn Cheese Crostini

Italian Corn Cheese Crostini is a perfect appetizer that will vanish in no time. Corn Cheese is a classic combination and one cannot go wrong with this combination.  It tastes very delicious and also looks good when served, Try this recipe for your next party and it will surely be a hit.

A long loaf of French bread is sliced to make small, thick toasts called crostini – cover them with your favorite toppings and bake them till they are crispy and cheese melts.

Recipe of Italian Corn Cheese Crostini

Ingredients:
1 loaf French bread or Garlic bread loaf – cut into ½” thick slices ¾ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
¼ tsp oregano,
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp boiled corn,
1 cup pizza sauce,
GARLIC BUTTER:
3 tbsp softened butter
½ tsp minced garlic – crushed
a pinch of salt
¼ tsp freshly crushed pepper
TOPPING
½ cup grated cheese preferably parmesan or mozzarella (optional)
2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
1 cup freshly torn basil leaves.

Method:

1. Heat oil. Now add pizza sauce, saute it for few seconds and add corn, salt, pepper, and oregano. Cook for about 2 mins. Remove from the heat.

2. Prepare garlic butter by mixing softened butter with garlic, salt, and pepper.

3. Cut French loaf or garlic bread diagonally into ½” thick slices. On each slice spread some garlic butter.

4. Arrange the corn mixture on it. Cover with grated cheese. Spoon a little olive oil or melted butter on top of the cheese and add freshly torn basil leaves.

5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC/350ºF for 10 minutes or till the base of the bread turns crisp and the cheese melts and, serve it hot.
